This is a very simplified, easy to understand explanation of the theory of neuroplasticity. The basic idea is that our brains continue to change and grow as we do; and that through repeatedly focusing on a new thought or behaviour, we can change the neural pathways in our brains.

This morning, I’ve been thinking about the little things in life that make a big difference to my wellbeing. They are small, easy things I do for myself that make me feel happy and relaxed.
Here’s my list of ten nice things:
1. A handmade Self Care Zine from Etsy.
2. Going to the Steam/Sauna/Spa (Health Lounge) at the local leisure centre on a cold winter’s day.
3. House plants!
4. Baking something delightful!
5. Reading ‘Craft for the Soul’ by Pip Lincolne (I strongly suspect it inspired this post).
6. Hanging out in a good book shop.
7. Finding three things everyday for which to be grateful.
8. Hot tea on a cold winter’s day!
9. Clean sheets.
10. Spending time with a friend who really ‘gets’ you.
What little things do you like to do to contribute to your own happiness and wellbeing?

Have you ever thought you’d like to give Art Therapy a try? We have been running a very popular series of Art Therapy Workshops for women, at the Mundaring Wellness Centre. The next series begins on Sunday evening, the 14th June 2015 and we are now taking bookings. Both in order to maintain a sense of cosiness and safety amongst participants, and so that the therapist/facilitators are adequately available to all group members, we offer a limited number of places.
The workshops follow an unfolding of each participant’s unique journey toward themselves.
